Dr. DAVID C BUCK
Dr.
David Buck. A native of Sumner, Washington, Dr. Buck
earned a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training
from Western Washington University in 1997. Employed
as a Certified Athletic Trainer following college, he
began pursuing a career in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports
Medicine. He attended medical school at the University
of Washington School of Medicine, graduating with honors
in 2002.
He moved to the Midwest and completed
a surgical internship & an orthopaedic surgery residency
at the University of Nebraska and has practiced in the
Omaha area ever since.
Dr. Buck is a member of the Alpha
Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and is certified by the
National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). He is licensed
to practice medicine in the state of Nebraska and is currently
Board Eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery
(ABOS). He is a member of the American Medical Association
(AMA), Nebraska Medical Association (NMA), American Academy
of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and the American College
of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
Dr. Buck has published scientific
articles on ACL ligament reconstruction and adult shoulder
reconstruction. He has also given educational lectures
and presentations at local, state, and national meetings.
His special areas of interest include adult shoulder
reconstruction, sports medicine/arthroscopic surgery,
and reconstruction of periarticular fractures (repairing
broken bones around the joints).
Dr. Buck has a special
interest in and has been active in healthcare politics
throughout his career. During medical school, he served
as the National Chair of the AMA-Medical Student Section.
He has also served as the representative to the AMA for
Nebraska’s Resident Physicians.
Dr. Buck has lobbied
on behalf of patients and physicians before Congressional
Committees on topics ranging from covering the uninsured,
access to care, rising medical system costs, and patient
safety.
Dr. Buck and his wife, Lori, reside in Elkhorn,
Nebraska and have a strong connection to Fremont through
family ties. Currently they have one son. Outside of
the office, he most enjoys spending time with his wife
and son. He also enjoys golfing, biking, and both playing
and watching sports. He is also becoming an avid amateur
photographer and is always excited to talk about and
share his pictures.
Dr. David Buck enjoys all aspects
of orthopaedic surgery and especially the satisfaction
that comes with helping patients overcome their injuries
and return to happy, healthy, and productive lives. Dr.
Buck is the Danna College Team Physician.
