Dr. KENNETH R PITZ
Dr.
Pitz, M.D., is a native of Aurora Illinois, about 45 miles
west of Chicago, where he attended Marmion Military Academy.
In 1978 he graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He
continued on at Creighton University School of Medicine and
received his Medical doctorate in 1982. He performed
a general surgery internship at Tripler Army Medical Center,
Honolulu, Hawaii, a two year orthopaedic preceptorship at
at Irwin Army Community Hospital in Ft. Riley, Kansas, and
then completed his training in 1989 at Williams Beaumont
Army Medical Center in el Paso, Texas.
In addition to his orthopaedic
training, he also received additional training in burn surgery
and in combat casualty care at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. He
was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas from 1989 to 1992, during
which time he served as Chief of the Orthopaedic Service
and later as Chief of the Department of Surgery.
Dr. Pitz, is
a veteran of the Persian Gulf war, during which he served as
chief of the orthopaedic surgery service at the 44th U.S. Army
Evacuation Hospital in Saudi Arabia. He resigned his commission in 1993 and joined
the staff at Physicians Clinic in Omaha, Nebraska. In
December 1994 he joined Dr Christopher Ihle in Fremont Nebraska
at Heartland Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic.
Dr.
Pitz is on active staff at Fremont Area Medical Center and
currently serves as Chief of the Department of Surgery. He
also has staff privileges at St. Francis Memorial Hospital
in West Point, Nebraska, Alegent Memorial Hospital in Schuyler,
Nebraska and Alegent Immanuel and Nebraska Methodist hospitals
in Omaha.
He is a Diplomat, certified
by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow
in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is
a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society,
American Medical Association, Nebraska Medical Association,
Dodge County Medical Society, Metro Omaha Medical Society and
numerous other medical and specialty group affiliations.
Dr
Pitz and Marian, his wife, remain very active in raising their
four children. He is also quite
active with the Knights of Columbus at his church. He
enjoys woodworking and carpentry as hobbies. |
